Setting Expectations Before Your Facelift

Facelifts are one of the most popular cosmetic surgeries in the world and for good reason. The trimming and tightening of skin and muscle and the removal of areas of fat involved in a facelift are superb for restoring a more youthful look to the face and neck.

But in some cases a traditional facelift really isn’t the right procedure to correct certain signs of aging. Those problems are best treated by more targeted surgeries and are often used in conjunction with a facelift. They include:

Blepharoplasty

This is eyelid surgery and is the most common type of cosmetic surgery to be paired with a facelift. The surgery tightens eyelids that have begun to sag, sometimes to the point of interfering with the patient’s vision. It also removes puffy areas from under the eyes that make people look tired and older than their age. Take a look at the before and after photos of our patients.

Chin Augmentation

This surgery changes the size and/or shape of the patient’s chin. Patients who seek this surgery often have a prominent nose and a weak chin, resulting in a lack of facial aesthetic harmony. Chin augmentation can range from adding a soft tissue filler to chin implant surgery that increases the projection of the chin relative to the rest of the face.

Fat Grafting

The patient’s own fat is used to plump up lips or flat areas in the face such as the cheeks. Fat grafting is ideal because there’s no chance of the body rejecting it, as can happen with other dermal fillers. The fat is harvested through liposuction, purified, and then injected into the areas where it’s needed. Though the body reabsorbs some of the fat over time and fat cells naturally atrophy (shrink) with age, fat grafting is considered permanent.

The Reflection Lift

The Reflection Lift is Dr. Boggess’ unique approach that he has developed from 17 years of experience performing facial rejuvenation procedures. It’s a more conservative approach compared to traditional facelift surgery and is available in three different levels based on the individual needs of each patient. Whether you’re a candidate for a Level I, II or III, your needs will be addressed to help you feel great and youthful.
